Social Media Marketing allows you to connect with your customers
Social media sites like Twitter and Facebook enable you to build up your reputation and audience over time. They also allow you to respond to customer concerns, comments and complaints. Responding to complaints in a timely fashion can help you head off long term and fast spreading negativity surrounding your business. Every friend you add on Facebook or every person that is following you on Twitter or any other social network increases your profile and authority in your industry.
Still don't think you need to include social media marketing in your marketing plans?
Every type of social media allows a visitor to read an article, watch a video or some other type of content. It then allows the user the opportunity to comment on it. The visitor will either agree with it or disagree with it, either by leaving a comment, posting a bookmark or checking a "like" or "dislike" button, or by doing something else. But it doesn't end there. When that first visitor makes a comment in some fashion, others will see it. Then others will comment and so on. This cuts both ways. If people have good things to say about you or your business, it can mean great things and additional sales. But if you have people making no so complimentary comments about you or your business, it can also travel like wildfire and do significant damage. Having a solid social media marketing plan will mean you'll be well connected to various social media networks and will be in a position to provide a continual top flight customer experience. Remember - social media is not just for teenagers to communicate.
Your customers are using these networks. so it should be clear that you need to be there as well. If you are not involved with social media marketing, you owe it to you and your business to get involved as soon as possible.
